Working for a leading manufacturer in the fresh foods market, specialising in developing private label products for top global grocery retailers and well known international foodservice operators.

Role Purpose:

To ensure that high care production equipment is maintained to the standard required for effective operation, with particular focus on the tray sealer heads & bagging machines

Key responsibilities include:

• Liaise with Team Leader and Team Manager regarding equipment and tooling issues
• Ensure equipment is running correctly
• Check all equipment and tooling for signs of wear / damage and arrange repair
• Manage machine/equipment to maximise throughput rate and minimise downtime without compromising product quality
• Escalate only real performance issues and facilitate a rapid response and resolution
• Achieve machine/equipment changeovers in less than the target time
• Actively liaise with Engineering Department to remove performance barriers
• Independently generate ideas to improve performance in their working area
• Offers relevant performance information to the Team Leader, Team Manager & Engineers
• Operate as a Machine Minder – Bagger if required by production needs


Skills, know-how and experience required:

• Mechanical aptitude
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Understanding of the drivers of line/equipment/process performance
• Good understanding of food safety principles and application
• Structured approach to problem solving
• Ability to work with a minimum of supervision
• Basic Food Hygiene
