Imago is a long established, well respected and effective charity working across Kent, Medway, East Sussex and London delivering a range of services to individuals, voluntary and community organisations, the public and private sector.
Our mission is to promote, develop and facilitate social action, support independence and empower communities. User and volunteer engagement, leadership and involvement in decision making are core principles.

We deliver a wide range of services in partnership with funders, public sector commissioners and private sector sponsors to children and young people, older people, carers, and volunteers.

Imago offers a competitive remuneration package consisting of salary, contributory pension, healthcare benefits and 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays.

Underpinning our work is a commitment to excellence, evidencing impact and safeguarding vulnerable people

Are you passionate about children reaching their full potential?
Are you confident, self-motivated, flexible, and have a ‘can do’ attitude?

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team delivering Young Carer services. Imago is a leading charity providing support and opportunities to people across the South East and London. You will be responsible for a dedicated area, and following training, will manage an existing caseload, new referrals and deliver a programme of monthly themed workshops. In this role, you will assess Young Carers in schools and meet with families in their own homes.

Using the Young Carer service toolkit, you will provide short-term interventions that support Young Carers to improve their resilience, educational chances and wellbeing. This might be signposting to local services, action planning, one-to-one support, or our 12-month workshop programme.

You will build trusted relationships to make referrals to a range of professionals, including health and social care, ensuring whole family needs are met and reducing the impact of caring on the young person. You will respond to challenging and complex situations with a measured response, in line with Imago Safeguarding and Lone Working Policies.

A key aspect of this role is to raise awareness and identify hidden Young Carers. You will have the opportunity to work with schools to train staff and develop a support programme for students, as well as developing wider networks.

You can make the difference and give a Young Carer their childhood back.

Vacancies currently in Bexley, Havering & Southwark

Post is subject to references and an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. A full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential as you will be working in different locations.
