Health and Safety Manager - £47,500
This fully loaded role has come available for one of the UK's largest local authority owned trading organisations, based in Kings Hill, near Maidstone. Having 4 very successful divisions across 9 different sites, including corporate offices, warehouse, waste and landscapes. The company employs over 500 people, selling and brokering in excess of £600 million per year. This award-winning organisation are now on the hunt for a HSE and Facilities Manager to join their ever-growing business.

The Role
Being the Group's Health and Safety Manager you will be responsible for actively and visibly promoting a healthy, safe and environmentally responsible culture across all areas of the business, whilst ensuring compliance within the strategy, policies and relevant legislations. Some of The Health and Safety Manager's tasks will be:
* Develop and continually update the Group's Corporate Health, Safety and Environmental Strategy
* Provide professional advice, guidance and support to Directors, managers and staff
* Assess training needs and devise training opportunities so that staff have a level of competence appropriate for their work.
* Devise and maintain an audit and inspection regime to verify compliance with all Corporate and Local policies and procedures and initiate improvement plans where appropriate.
* Conduct site inspections
* Investigate health & safety related incidents, either individually or as part of an investigation team
* Develop plans to ensure that all areas of the business achieve and maintain relevant accreditations (e.g. ISO45001 and ISO18001)
The Candidate
In order to be considered for the role, it is essential that you have a NEBOSH Diploma or Health and Safety qualification. The Health and Safety Facilities Manager must have at least 5 years solid experience in managing a health and safety strategy, have an up to date knowledge of legislations and standards. You will have previous knowledge and demonstrable experience of managing and motivating a team in a corporate environment as well as knowledge and experience of warehouse health and safety.
It is essential to have excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate on all levels with external stakeholders. You will be a pro-active, self-motivated individual!
