Job Title: Marine Claims Manager
Office: West Malling or London
Starting Date: ASAP
Salary: up to £38,000 - £45,000 depending on experience.
Overview of Role
To manage the claims team within the Marine Division. Handle and negotiate best settlements of clients' claim via telephone, email and face to face. Undertake administration to collate information and statistics in an accurate and efficient process. Work with the placing brokers to promote the business and its claims capabilities.
The successful Claims Marine Manager will be required to demonstrate the following to be considered for this opportunity:
1 Lloyds Broker background
2 5 years' experience (minimum)
3 CII qualification
4 Team player
5 Good communication
6 Ideally supervisory experience
The successful Claims Manager will be required to demonstrate the following:
* Contribute to collation of complete, accurate information to insurers.
* Develop relationships with clients and insurers
* Evaluate claims in light of understanding the policy wording and limits of cover
* Negotiate best settlement terms on client's behalf
* Resolve queries and raise any issues to key personnel within the company
* Update records and electronic files
* Support the broking team as required - Gather and produce claims documentation for procedures, Brokers and Account Executives
* Understand the insurance cover of each client
* Represent and promote the services of the company to clients, insurers and other relevant organisations.
* Provide pro-active service to expedite the settlement of claims, liaising between all parties including clients, insurers, solicitors, surveyors, loss adjuster and actively chase information.
* Report information to brokers and management team on an ad hoc basis and also in monthly management meeting
* Evaluate the performance of the claims service of the insurers we work with to make recommendations
* Produce and monitor claims statistics
* Monitor the performance of the claims department to ensure that we offer an exemplary service to clients.
* Comply with relevant legal, regulatory and Company's compliance requirements, procedures and quality initiatives.
* Escalate any potential E & O's to Director(s), Legal and Compliance Team as earliest opportunity.
* Ensure that standards meet/exceed all Statutory, Market and Regulatory requirements.
