Applications are invited for the position of CAD Technician/Space Planner for a Construction firm based in Dartford. Apollo Building Services Limited specialise in the pre-installation building work for medical imaging equipment and, due to continued growth, is now seeking to strengthen its office based technical team.
The role may suit a recent architectural/design/construction graduate seeking an entry level position within an established company.
Responsibilities will include: -
• Attending site visits
• Undertaking on-site surveys and mark outs
• Producing 2D technical floorplans detailing accurate positioning of equipment and associated services
• Utilising survey notes taken by others to produce 2D technical floorplans
• Liaising with the client team to optimise floorplan design
• Supporting clients’ floorplan queries
Required skills/experience: -
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Some experience in a design related field
• Excellent IT skills including the Microsoft Office suite
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent organisational and time management skills – must be able to balance multiple projects
• Some construction knowledge, particularly the tendering process
• An analytical mind with strong problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work with other trade disciplines and external consultants
• Some experience of working on fit out projects
• Good attention to detail
The successful applicant will be required to travel to construction sites around the UK on a regular basis. Working hours are 8.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday with some flexibility to suit business requirements.
