Leeds Castle are looking for a Boat Pilot to operate their Black Swan Boat. The Black Swan is a purpose built 9.5m aluminium flat platformed vessel based on a trimaran hull, powered by a 20 hp petrol outboard motor. Her purpose is to ferry visitors back and forth from the Triangle jetty to the Maze jetty, following the marked channel. When in use the boat is manned by 2 trained staff, pilot and crewman.
The nominated pilot is responsible for all aspects of the boat's handling and passenger safety and the nominated crewman is to follow the pilot's instructions. The boat's maximum capacity is 12 passengers and 2 crew. Previous boat piloting experience is required for this role.
The role will involve working 3 to 4 days per week (some Bank Holiday and Weekends included) on a Zero Hours contract for the months of April – October only.
The hours will be 9.30 until approximately 6pm.
