We wish to recruit a Development Engineer for our Corgi Diecast brand to work as part of a multi disciplined team.

Our preferred candidate will have some knowledge of mould tooling and project management, including design and function, feasibility studies for possible new items, costing and negotiation.

You should be educated to at least HNC/D level, although candidates with experience in a fast moving development environment will be considered. Knowledge of our product or an interest in diecast vehicles would be a distinct advantage, as would the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. General duties to include:

• Liaising directly with our Hornby HK staff and with selected Vendor contacts;
• Management of the yearly development schedule;
• Understanding of the production process, enabling a full and robust knowledge of product cost;
• Managing the supplier schedule for product and packaging artwork;
• Managing the Creation of product artwork;
• Ensuring final artwork files are stored on our digital storage system;
• Issuing/tracking product artwork visuals through our licensing team for approval submissions, dealing direct with the licensors to gain approval and ensure artwork approvals;
• Communicating with HK/India issuing artwork, providing comments/approval on product samples, answering queries;
• Managing the packaging artwork creation from the in house graphics team and externally where appropriate;
• Creation of packaging/certificate artwork;
• Close liaison with the Marketeers within the Brand teams.
