An exceptional new opportunity for a Procurement Officer within the public sector, covering long term sickness, so this is being presented on a fixed term basis for a minimum of 8 months, with a possible 4 month extension thereafter.
We are looking for an individual with a minimum of 1 years recent and relevant experience working within a purchasing environment.
Hours/Pay Rate:
37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
£12.90 - £14.80 per hour depending on experience.
The main duties:
Assisting the Procurement Specialist in procurement projects
Record keeping and management
Liaising with colleagues to identify upcoming contract requirements
Advantageous:
Experience in procurement in a support role
Experience with electronic purchase order systems
Experience with contract administration could be helpful
An understanding of European procurement legislation could also be helpful
Key Skills:
A good basic education
Confident IT skills particularly in MS Office with the ability to adapt to new systems
The ability to adapt and proactively prioritise work to meet deadlines
Reasonable analytical skills
