Canterbury Oast Trust, a leading local charity, provides first class care and support and quality development opportunities, together with accredited training courses, for adults with learning disabilities in a variety of vocational subjects and settings across Kent and East Sussex.

The Coterie Tea Rooms, at the heart of the historic town of Rye, offers table service and a variety of savouries and cakes, made on the premises, using locally sourced products wherever possible, whilst offering opportunities for our students to learn new skills and gain a qualification in a real working environment.

We are now looking to expand our team of Flexi (Casual) Restaurant Assistants based at the Coterie Tea Rooms.

As a Flexi (Casual) Restaurant Assistant, you will be dealing with the public and working alongside adults with learning disabilities as they develop their catering and customer service skills. You must be available to work during our busiest periods which include Saturday and/or Sunday on a rota basis throughout the year. Additional shifts may be available at other times, particularly during the Summer season. Shifts offered are normally between four and six hours.

The ideal candidate will have some general experience within a similar establishment, have a friendly and engaging personality, be a good team player, as well as being flexible and reliable.

All appointments are subject to proof of eligibility to work in the UK,an enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service and two satisfactory references.
