An exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Co-Ordinator to work in a fast-growing company based in the U.K with a newly-established U.S.A office. This is a highly technical field that offers the opportunity to work with some of the biggest and most cutting edge technology and aerospace companies in the world.
This position requires a Quality Assurance Co-Ordinator to assist in inspecting and managing all administration aspects of the QA department ensuring that all aspects of incoming optical components are tracked and traced from delivery, metrology testing and QA final inspection to ensure that every optical component meets specification. This is a varied position, in a busy team environment and every day is different.
Your main responsibilities will be to run the administration and liaise with all departments, customers and suppliers regarding the progress of each order. You will also be trained to become an expert in ISO10110, MIL-0-13830B and BS standards to ensure that all precision optical components are measured and inspected correctly, enabling you to inspect optical components to specification. You will be constantly updating and liaising with all departments in both the UK and USA team’s regarding metrology/QA inspection outcomes, deliveries and delays. Working with the sales department and purchasing/procurement departments to aim for a 0% reject rate.
You will also be responsible for booking in, despatch and packaging of precision optical components, prioritising despatch to both the USA and UK customer base, whilst managing incoming emails, enquiries from internal departments and stock control. This is a hands on position that will require being actively involved in the day-to-day running of a busy QA department. Including managing e-commerce orders and enquiries, identifying non-conformities and implementing corrective and preventative actions within the company’s quality system and monitoring progress of these towards closing issues in an acceptable timeframe.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
• Booking in USA/UK deliveries to correct warehouse.
• Prioritising despatch of USA and UK orders- using reporting systems in place.
• Inspect to optical component drawings/specifications.
• Administration Support to Quality Control/Despatch and Metrology Team.
• Manage E-Commerce sales, enquiries and despatch.
• Maintain and manage customer delivery dates.
• Select and book courier service.
• Manage rejects and quarantine.
• Work closely with both the USA and UK team to improve efficiencies and relationships.
• Manage and maintain incoming email’s to QA Department.
• Schedule delivery and Inspection timelines. (maintaining delivery deadlines)
• Prioritise and maintain supplier quality and delivery.
Qualifications and experience:
Essential:
• Ability to learn technical specifications/drawings. (Training will be given)
• Genuine interest in science and technology.
• Good listening skills.
• Keen to learn.
• Good eye for detail.
• Exceptional organisational skills.
• Able to work to deadlines.
• Efficient communication skills.
• Excellent administration skills.
• 5 GCSE A-C Pass (Science, Maths and English)
Desirable:
• Experience of manufacturing, reading technical drawings, AutoCAD.
• Science/Engineering Graduate.
Key Skills:

• Good communication skills
