Job Overview:
The Pretty Dress Company is looking for an experienced part-time/free lance pattern cutter to join our friendly, dynamic design team.
We are a fast-moving design lead business, delivering genuine quality, value and on trend fashion to UK & International Clients. You will need to draw and cut out patterns (set of including master pattern) based on illustrations from our designer. You'll understand garment construction and possess a good eye for detail, shape and calculations.
Reporting To:
Head of Design and General Manager.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Drawing and cutting out patterns
Altering and shaping flat patterns
Checking the Gradings for specified ranges of garment sizes
Modify patterns from our existing pattern library
Work alongside our sample cutter to create sample clothes
Liase with our garment technicians
Assess first samples
Work out costings (first cost, re-cost and sealed costings.)
Ensure the pattern room is organised and tidy
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years pattern cutting within a ladies fashion environment ideally.
Specific skills:
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Working to deadlines to ensure samples are made on-time
Good technical drawing skills
A thorough understanding of garment construction
Possess a good eye for detail, shape and proportion
Good maths skills for measurements and calculations
Have a knowledge of various fabrics
Good team working skills
Excellent time management
