A Buyer is required to join one of Kent's foremost employers - a global manufacturer with their UK Headquarters based in Mid-Kent.

The role will deliver the effective procurement solutions for material supply, balancing cost total cost, quality and service with an objective to minimise materials inventory.

Working within a small supply chain team, the incoming candidate will own the relationship between suppliers and the business, ensuring that the business will be a customer of choice. You will be able to interrogate master data and be able to negotiate at a senior level. Working with your counterparts in the team - you will work collaboratively to reduce risk, delivering a better value supply chain by embedding supplier relationship management into projects and focusing the needs of internal and external partners.

Candidates will be seasoned Buying professionals with demonstrable experience of using SAP. Key characteristics needed will include excellent attention to detail and a pro-active, can do attitude. The post holder will take full responsibility for their position within the broader supply chain.

CIPS Certificate would be preferred, although not essential.

Advanced MS Excel skills are needed as you manipulate and analyse large data sets. Good MS PowerPoint skills would be required, too, in order to effectively present to suppliers.
