Job Title: Community Engagement Coordinator
Responsible To: Operations Manager
Location: Medway
Job Purpose: Increase community engagement across the Involving Medway project.
Hours: 20 hours a week, 6 Month Fixed Term Contract with possibility to extend
Annual salary: £23, 000 pro rata (Mileage at 40p per mile)
Annual leave: 25 days, plus Bank Holidays (pro rata)

Who are we looking for?

We need a proactive engagement coordinator with excellent communication skills and a real desire to champion the views of local residents. This role has a wide range of audiences so you need to feel just at home talking to a small group of local residents as you would delivering a presentation to health commissioners in Medway.

More about the role:

Involving Medway is a community engagement project funded by NHS Medway Clinical Commissioning Group and delivered by Red Zebra leading a team of VCSE partners. The purpose of the project is to build healthier, more resilient communities across Medway and increase communication between the public and the CCG.

You will be an intrinsic part of the Involving Medway team taking the lead on their community engage-ment; you will be responsible for devising new methods of engagement, extending our reach in the community and writing reports for NHS Medway Clinical Commissioning Group. A good working knowledge of Microsoft applications is essential as is being confident in the use of social media platforms.
The role is based in Chatham but travel across the Medway towns to meet groups and deliver engagement activity will be required. A flexible approach to working is essential, evening and weekend work may be necessary, time off in lieu will be given for any hours worked over the contracted amount with prior agreement from your line manager.

Main Duties:

• Developing relationships with local communities
• Writing focus group materials and delivering focus groups
• Developing and maintaining a strong social media presence for the project
• Delivering NHS Medway CCG’s message to harder to reach communities
• Writing engagement reports
• Devising creative and innovation solutions to issues that may arise

The Person:

• Enthusiastic with a ‘can do’ attitude, highly proactive with a creative problem solver mind
• Good local knowledge of Medway
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to talk to any one from any background
• Social media savvy
• Driving licence and access to own vehicle is desirable
• Confident user in PowerPoint, Excel and Word
• Some experience of designing and delivering engagement activity and events.
• Confident in working to agreed targets.
• Clean DBS
