Our client offers robust solutions in Design, Production and Management that work together to optimise client’s concept-to-shelf experience. This position is working within a small, energetic and friendly team located in lovely offices in Ashford, within walking of the train station.
Position Expectations
• Convert and translate customer submitted artwork into a press compatible format
• Create production art, line extensions and prepping jobs for assembly, which will include but not limited to: preflighting, typesetting, image placement, layout, spot colour adaption, etc
• Manipulate customer artwork so printed materials can be produced according to the production requirements
• Maintain an effective and efficient workflow from the point the artwork is scheduled to the proof stage
• Maintain direct and open communication with internal customer service team and production teams to assure the final mechanical art meets the clients and printers needs
• Output production proofs depicting final layout for customer approval
• Design all files according to the requirements of the press it will run on; including press marks, colour correction, etc
• Make independent judgement in graphic assembly of working art files; analysing needs and product requirements to create a final press-ready file
• Proofread all work including customer proofs and final files
• Maintain accuracy on all orders so that orders flow efficiently and effectively
Candidate requirements
• BS or BA in Graphics Design/Production, Printing or similar degree (preferred)
• 2-3 years’ experience in packaging graphics, design and/or prepress
• Graphics production technology background or experience, a plus
• Self-motivated and disciplined
• Strong project management and organisation skills
• Operates with high integrity, is productive under high pressure, hands-on when needed
• Deep understanding of major printing methods (Flexo, Gravure, Offset)
• Proficient use of Apple operating system including knowledge of business software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, FileMaker Pro and Acrobat
Remuneration & Benefits
• Very competitive basic salary
• Good holiday entitlement & benefits
• 37.5-hour week, Monday to Friday
