Parts Adviser/Warranty Administrator

Malcolm Waite Limited in Sandwich are currently looking for a Parts Adviser and Warranty Administrator for our Ford Franchised Repairers based at New Street, Sandwich.

Applications for the position are invited from suitably qualified/experienced persons.
Previous motor trade experience in a Parts Adviser position and understanding of Warranty processes is required, preferably in a Ford environment although this is not essential. Some technical experience is essential.

When required, the successful applicant must be willing to share the responsibility of managing the Service Reception on a day-to-day basis therefore some customer-facing experience is required.

The main purpose of the job
• To receive and identify stock
• To check goods from suppliers
• To ensure accurate identification of customers’ needs by means of parts catalogues and computer stock lists.
• To conduct all transactions with customers with the utmost courtesy
• To pre-pick parts for workshop - ordering in stock where appropriate
• To ensure that stock is only issued in accordance with policy regarding payment or charge
• To guard against unauthorised withdrawal from stock
• To maintain stock control system.
• To care for stock control, plant and record systems
• To ensure that all paperwork, documentation and requisitions are properly recorded within the stock control system.
• To ensure that all credit sales are made to an authorised signatory or approved account.
• To keep all parts catalogues, manufacturers list, etc. updated and tidy.
• To ensure that supplier invoices are in accordance to orders placed and to allocate against the appropriate delivery in a timely manner
• To cover for Service Reception and generally contribute towards the smooth running of the Service Department
• Learn, understand and administer the Ford Warranty claims system.
