The Job Role
We are seeking a conscientious person with a good knowledge of HS compliance in commercial fit out and refurbishment.
Someone who understands CDM 2015 regulations, checking Rams IN from our sub-contractors, producing Rams OUT for clients, working with the Projects team to ensure the correct toolbox talks are organised and undertaken (sometimes delivered by our HS person/ projects team).
A knowledge of site set up paperwork and processes for projects team to adhere to, ensuring all correct signing in procedures etc. are carried out, with random site visits and checks (normally 1-2 pm).
Maintaining all current documentation is compliant with legislation , including First Aid Kits in vehicles and on sites and records of site based staff accreditation’s / qualifications along with our Subbies required certifications are up to date, maintained, reminded and organised when applicable. Training records need to be kept up to date.
The successful person will manage our supply chain which goes through our internal approval processes or are fast-tracked via being Constructionline approved.
Our approved supply chain is then used by our estimating / buying teams.
This person will also provide O and M manuals on completion of the project, to the client.
Rap work closely with our current external advisor Lighthouse and we are wanting to improve the delivery of toolbox talk system, with them, potentially via an app / Rap YouTube channel. Therefore the selected person needs to have an innovative approach to making systems simpler and faster, and also more effective
The successful person must advise on compliance of projects to start based on Asbestos reports that we request from all our clients, prior to start.
The candidate will be working as part of the delivery team for any project and must adopt and implement a strong checking procedure to guide and advise of any potential hazards / problems as we will be reliant on you to keep us compliant
Whilst this is a one person department role, you will be managing yourself but bringing your process into the delivery of the projects so working effectively with a further 4-5 project managers over multiple sites.

We do not expect individuals to have all required qualifications, so training will be provided if necessary.

What Can you Expect
This role is based from our Maidstone HQ but travelling to sites, max one per week will have the use of one of the company vehicles to the sites and back to our office. A company vehicle is NOT required or provided on a full time basis.
Rap Interiors offer a Pension scheme, 20 days holiday plus Bank holidays, salary negotiable DOE £23,000-£30,000.
Hours of working can sometimes need flexibility as sometimes you have to work a bit late to meet deadlines.
We do have an office dog, so please bear this in mind, as not everyone likes working with animals.
We welcome candidates with experience and Graduates looking to progress within a small family business of 19 staff.
