Working for a leading manufacturer in the fresh foods market, specialising in developing private label products for top global grocery retailers and well known international foodservice operators.

Role Purpose:

To lead and motivate a team across a shift-based timeframe in Despatch; to liaise with external depots and customers to ensure that goods/products are despatched on time. As this is a hands-on role, it is expected that the post-holder will proactively spend time in the factory supporting operations and ensuring compliance across all areas of accountability.

Key responsibilities include:

• Look for ways to constantly deliver increasing performance and product quality and improved people management.
• Ensure delivery of agreed KPIs within their area and their team
• Manage the performance and attendance of operatives in all levels of appraisal, performance review and absence management.
• Ensure operatives are coached and trained in all aspects of their role, including health and safety and food safety standards and quality control procedures in order to maintain a cross functional multi skilled workforce.
• Maintaining the integrity and reliability of the factory’s Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Undertake team briefs on a daily basis.


Skills, know-how and experience required:

• Ability to lead and develop a team, and manage labour demands & budgets.
• Ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
• Strong numerical, verbal and written communication skills.
• Good IT skills, with solid experience of standard industry software.
• A minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience.
