To develop, increase and support volunteers involved in ecological data collection across the county, working alongside the Conservation and People Engagement teams.

The post holder will work closely with the Project lead in delivering the Nature’s Sure Connected project. Nature’s Sure Connected will build Kent Wildlife Trust’s capacity to deliver biodiversity monitoring at the landscape scale. We already deliver monitoring on our reserves and Local Wildlife Sites; this project will enable us to understand the state of our wildlife and the impact of our conservation activities in the wider landscape. This post will use to the full a broad mixture of skills built on wide, hands-on experience of working with volunteer groups to gather ecological data. The post holder will play a key part in ensuring that volunteers are recruited, trained, supported and engaged, to help us develop and test a new biodiversity monitoring system. You’ll be working toward helping these volunteer groups to be self-managing and self-sustaining in the future and helping to plot their journey with Kent Wildlife Trust.

You: You will be a competent field ecologist and engaging volunteer developer.
