Claims Handler / Adjuster - Liability
12 month FTC Maternity Cover

About the Role:
In order to ensure that cases are handled by claims staff with appropriate experience, the right technical capability and the resource to dedicate to these claims, this company are looking for an experienced Liability Claims Handler. You will be your responsible for delivering pragmatic and professional solutions to claims, within a proven and effective global approach. Innovation and can do attitude are essential.

This Claims team manage the international Casualty claims portfolio across Employers Liability (EL), Public Liability (PL) and Product Liability plus the liability element of some Motor, Marine, Professional Indemnity, Environmental, US Medical Malpractice and Construction (CAR) claims. They work across a range of binder, delegated authority and TPA arrangements.


Key Duties:
·Handling a diverse portfolio of work, across the Casualty lines, including employers' liability (injury and disease), general liability, products' liability and excess of loss matters for policies are written on both Lloyd's and company paper.
·Conducting and overseeing loss investigations, ensuring that the appropriate investigation method is used at the right cost and utilising the right people.
·TPA management is required for a cross section of the following: high claim volume accounts where outsourced claims support is provided. Maintenance is required at all levels, including claim oversight, technical claims conduct of matters above the provided delegated authority, consideration of coverage referrals from the TPA, relationship management of the TPA and Insured, review of the bordereau at high to identify any potential high risk claims and accurate reserving.
·Responsibility for a cross section of these tasks in conjunction with an overriding Outsourced relationship adjuster, Delegated Authority Governance and Quality Assurance, including possible participation in technical audits of TPAs.
·The business is centred on customer service which is a significant factor in their success and handlers will need to take ownership of their cases, as well as be responsible for individual accounts and the relationships with both broker and insured clients.
·Review and development of claims protocols, attendance at pre inception and review meetings and provision of reports required by brokers and clients.
·Each claim will be explored as quickly as possible, and communications with stakeholders will need to be maintained throughout. Analysis of policy coverage will need to be determined on each claim and any compromise managed at the appropriate level.
·Demonstrate strong written and verbal skills with an emphasis towards open exchanges and dialogue with stakeholders.
·You will be expected to collaborate with team members, providing support where necessary, and to work within your own authority. There is a clear mechanism to refer larger and more complex cases and there will be opportunity to retain ownership of these, for development purposes, but with oversight and guidance from others.

Key skills:
·Proven experience of managing claims from cradle to grave within the Lloyd's market
·Previous experience of working with binder and TPA arrangements is highly beneficial
·Liability claims experience from the Lloyds Market
·International claims experience is highly beneficial
·Excel and Word competence will be required.
·Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a real focus towards excellent customer experience
