Required to start on 2nd January 2019, we are looking for an experience Domestic to work in our boarding house 8.30 am to 2.00 pm, Monday to Friday, during term time (plus 2 hours on a Saturday) and 8.00 am to 1.00 pm, Monday to Friday, during non-term time. Job Description
• To ensure that a high level of cleanliness is maintained throughout the Boarding facilities on a daily basis
• To ensure that a high level of cleanliness is maintained throughout the Boarding bathroom facilities on a daily basis
• To ensure a high level of cleanliness is maintained with throughout all laundry process
• To will be require to participate in a schedule which will include using in the washing and drying facilities and participate in Ironing
• Each cleaner will be responsible for an area and will be expected to clean to the frequency and standards set out.
• To ensure standards and procedures are adhered to
• To use cleaning materials appropriately, as instructed and economically; to inform your supervisors when stocks are low (appropriate training will be given)
• To ensure that tools and equipment are in good working order, reporting any faults to your supervisors.
• All cleaners are required to contribute to major deep cleaning tasks during non-term set by the supervisors, that may include moving furniture, carpet cleaning, stripping floors, cleaning walls & skirting boards, cleaning windows internally, dusting at high levels
• Empty and clean bins and remove waste to designated areas, including the separation of waste; i.e. recycling.
• To clean the internal and external glass within the doors
• Where practical ensure windows and doors are closed and lights switched off
• Report to supervisors any defects seen which are likely to affect security; ie broken/cracked windows etc.
• Cleaners will be required to use electrical and mechanical equipment, floor polishers, Hoovers and carpet cleaners etc. (appropriate training will be given)
• Cleaners are required to use only approved cleaning materials by the school and in accordance with manufacturers printed instructions and COSHH regulations. Chemicals should never be mixed with other chemicals
• To be aware of their responsibilities for Health & Safety of themselves and others
• To attend team meetings as required and contribute to the development and growth of the business through the sharing of good practice and your own experiences
• To attend all necessary training sessions to develop your own potential and enable your progress in the school
• To be an active member of the team and support colleagues
• Ensure that all equipment used, is in safe working order, checked regularly
• Report any faults of equipment to management, ensure equipment is not used until safe
• Comply with any reasonable instructions from your line manager within the agreed deadline
• Comply with all school’s policies/procedures and site rules and regulations
• To adhere to all relevant hygiene, Health & Safety Policies, for yourself, staff, customers and visitors
• Maintaining confidentiality at all times in respect of school related matters and to prevent disclosure of confidential and sensitive information including pay

Hours of Work
This is an all year position with occasional weekend/evenings and or non-term time work at any venue as requested by your Line Manager as and when required. Overtime may be required and will be paid at flat rate. Working time will not exceed 48 hours per week – including weekends.

Normal hours of work will be:

Term Time
• 8.30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday to Friday including 30 minutes unpaid break + 11 Saturdays of the year for 2 hours per day (times to be set by the unit manager/services manager)

Non Term Time
• 8.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m., Monday to Friday including 30 minutes unpaid break
• You are required to work 11 Saturdays of the year for 2 hours per day (times to be set by the unit manager/services manager)
• You may be required to work outside of your normal working hours, weekends and non-term time for events such as staff training/staff meetings
• You may be required to work at any site within King’s Rochester.

Holiday entitlement
You shall be entitled to holiday in accordance with your contract of employment which can be taken all year, 5 days of you holiday entitlement must be kept to be taken during the Christmas duration. This will need to be authorised and approved by your line manager in advance, for monitoring purposes.

Person Specification
The post holder will should be able to demonstrate the following:

• Take pride in a job well done, committed to achieving high standards of cleanliness and hygiene set by the school and supervisors.
• Is punctual, reliable, work accordingly to your given hours and trustworthy
• Willing to undertake any training relevant to the role
• Willing to undertake any meeting with Supervisors, Unit Manager or Services Manager
• Trustworthy, maintaining confidentiality at all times in respect of school related matters and to prevent disclosure of confidential and
sensitive information
• Ability to manager time effectively, be flexible to changing demands of the post
• Initiative and ability to work without supervision, but as part of a team
