A rare opportunity for an experienced finance manager to join our Outstanding-rated independent fostering agency for children with disabilities. The Finance Manager exercises overall financial control and is responsible for business reporting to ensure the success of the organisation. You will manage the accounting operations including the production of financial reports, the maintenance of accounting records and set controls and budgets to ensure accurate reporting that complies with current recognised accounting principles.
To apply for this role you must be AAT Accounting qualified or qualified by experience.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
* Carry out necessary actions to ensure the business meets its financial and legal obligations.
* Contribute to the achievement of the organisation’s business objectives by providing advice and guidance on financial strategies.
* Line management of finance staff to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and developed and that they can carry out their responsibilities.
* Prepare monthly management accounts.
* Prepare annual budgets and cashflow forecasts to monitor and safeguard the business.
* Assist in the preparation of the organisation’s annual accounts to ensure that these are presented accurately and on time.
* Operate payrolls, pensions and oversee employee benefits.
* Liaise with the company’s accountants, insurers, bank relationship manager, factoring relationship manager and other advisers and professionals, as required.
* Oversee the factoring company account and allocate payments received appropriately.
* Ensure that the organisation policy in relation to credit control is applied and that customers pay to terms.
* Liaise with managers and other staff to ensure realistic budgets are set and managed.
* Assist with fostering placement pricing negotiations.
