It is an interesting time to consider joining Watts Farms. This third generation family run business has seen much change and expansion over recent years. Watts Farms Packers Ltd grows, picks and packs produce. Currently we are growing 21 types of crop including kale, spinach, sugar snap peas, fine beans, chilies, broccoli, pakchoi to name a few on 8 sites; 6 in Kent and 2 and Essex spanning 1000 hectares.
We supply retailers and non -retail outlets. To ensure our customers have all round availability of products the business also imports. Produce is packed to the customer’s specification in our packing facility which operates one shift every day except Christmas Day.
Our management team is continually striving for optimum yields of crop and researching new product development and more efficient ways of working.
We are recruiting a QA operative to join the existing team in our low/high care area of our packing facility.
Reporting to the QA Manager, with your colleagues, you will be instrumental in assisting the QA team with the day to day activities. This will involve accountability for attaining daily checks whilst effectively checking/monitoring materials in line with the business KPIs
In your role your success will be measured by your:-
• Achievement of KPIs in relation to incoming/online checks/positive release efficiencies, quality from a continuous improvement approach.
• Ensuring a safe working environment by taking a pro-active stance towards health, safety and food hygiene measures.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate being able to work as part of a team and working on their own imitative, also preferred knowledge within the produce industry would be a distinct advantage.
Furthermore demonstrating a strong commitment to quality and customer service. PC literacy is a pre-requisite.
This is not a position for the “faint hearted” it’s a hands on role but offers an excellent opportunity to be at the sharp end in our business at the beginning of this new challenging venture.
Hours of Work
Sunday - Thursday 7.00 am - 17.30 pm, flexible around these hours.
