Modus Construction Consultants is a highly professional quantity surveying practice who is seeking an experienced quantity surveyor to join our expanding team in our offices based in Faversham. The practice works within a wide range of sectors throughout London and the Home Counties with projects ranging in value from £500,000 to £15,000,000.

If you have a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a quantity surveying role and are looking for a new challenge managing your own projects and workload as well as leading some members of the team, then this could be the position for you.

Whilst the ideal candidate will be MRICS, this is not essential. The candidate will be expected to drive projects forward in a proactive manner, be a team player, focused on excellence in service delivery and communication with Clients and Contractors alike, be extremely organised, personable and have a keen attention to detail.

The successful candidate will work directly for a range of clients across various sectors through all stages of the project lifecycle, delivering a high-class service.

Extensive pre and post contract skills are necessary and listed below are some of the key day-to-day roles that the candidate will be required to perform:

- Managing and preparing Cost Plans at all RIBA Stage
- Oversee and manage the tendering process in full including preparation of tender documentation, pre-tender estimates, tender analysis and compilation of contract documents
- Quantification and measurement of construction works including SMM7 and NRM
- Managing the preparation of BoQ's
- Preparation and issuing of cost and progress reports
- Identification and valuation of extra and varied works
- Preparation and issuing of interim valuations
- Preparation, negotiation and agreement of the final account
- Preparation and negotiation of claims for Extensions of Time
- Client/contractor liaison
- Dealing with contractual matters and advising as issues arise
- Contract administration duties including managing a team, chairing meetings and issuing minutes, issuing notices and instructions, reviewing programmes, monitoring progress and issuing monthly CA reports
