Following a period of rapid expansion The Kings Ferry Group is seeking an experienced Product Development Manager to lead partner selection, product development & contracting for its Kings Ferry Connections service.

To drive continued success we are seeking an outstanding individual with a track record of building and managing supplier partnerships which have delivered customer and commercial outcomes. To succeed in this role you will have extensive procurement, negotiation and contracting expertise

Primary role:

Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director you will be responsible for growing the Kings Ferry Connections operator network; developing a defined inventory management strategy in order to maximise own fleet utilisation; developing an effective procurement strategy to increase margin and ensuring exceptional service delivery standards are delivered across the operator network

Working closely with the Senior Team to develop and refine the Kings Ferry Connections proposition in order to maximise new opportunities and stay ahead

Day to day responsibility for ensuring high performance and results from a small team

Your daily duties include:

• Develop operator relations and procurement strategy to support the Kings Ferry Group growth plan
• Conduct regular operator reviews to discuss existing supplier arrangements, increase margins and rework Terms where necessary
• Grow the operator network (coach and car)
• Develop strong operator relationships, getting to know the type of work each operator prefers and engage operators to ensure that Kings Ferry Connections is their first choice when looking for additional work
• Negotiate formal Operator Contracts where applicable (guaranteed work v. set/lower rates)
• Manage operator performance and service delivery standards.
• Establish an operator audit process to ensure standards are consistently maintained
• Working with Operations colleagues across the Group develop a defined inventory management strategy, processes and controls to help maximise own fleet utilisation over Connections.
• Work closely with the Marketing Manager to develop CRM/Connections Live platforms to support effective relationship management and better visibility of operator performance related MI
• Set direction, coach and support direct reports in order that they can be successful in their roles.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

• You must have been operating at Product Manager/Relationship Manager level for at least 5 years and have significant experience of building, managing and developing effective partner relationships
• Proven track record of sourcing new partners/suppliers
• Experience developing procurement strategy, an in depth knowledge of supplier markets and strong negotiation skills
• Inventory Management experience desirable
• Experience of using the Salesforce platform to develop strong partner relationships
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills; credible, team player
• People management experience, ability to drive results using a coaching approach
• Proven experience of working collaboratively and with cross functional teams
• Candidates with experience of the transport sector would be of particular interest
