We are looking for Machine support assistant on our evening shift.
Hours will be 15:30 to 00:15 and a 1 in 2 Saturday evenings with a day in lieu. Shifts will include some bank holidays.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As Machine support assistant your challenge is to assist the Line Leaders to achieve optimum line performance with as little down time as possible. This will involve helping set up machines, identifying issues and problem solving on machinery, carrying out maintenance and cleaning to equipment to keep it in optimum condition, all within your reasonable capabilities. You will help maintain and develop the current maintenance procedures alongside the maintenance engineer. Assist in carrying out planned and non -planned maintenance to help prevent breakdowns.
• Monitoring the work area to ensure the workplace is safe and all machinery is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness
• Completing maintenance checks and PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) schedule.
• Assist the maintenance engineer carry out planned and non-planned maintenance tasks.
• Keep records of tasks carried out.
• Help maintain health and safety in the department.
• Assist in machine training, new projects and procurement of equipment.
*Inputting product information into the Ice machine
*Reeling up machines
*Use of correct tooling
• Booking out of pallet on the PR2 system
• Help of labelling pallets on end of line
• Liaising with and reporting any issues to the Line Leaders and engineers in a clear and concise manner.
• Help motivate line when machine is running efficiently and deputise Line Leader in their absence.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Basic computer skills are essential
We require all applicants to have a basic understanding of English literacy and numeracy

• Previous experience of working within a food environment would be an advantage
• Previous experience with machinery / heat sealers would be an advantage
• Very organised and reliable
• Enjoy being part of a team
• Ability input information accurately
• Strong verbal & written skills
• Will be able to follow the required quality standards
