Yard Assistant and Technical Instructor - Equine
Salary: £17,391 to £19,808pa
Hours 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Locations: Hadlow
We are seeking a self - motivated person to provide additional technical and practical support to our Equine lecturing staff. You will also be responsible for the day to day running of the yard and supervising and instructing students during their yard and stable duties. As an instructor, you will be demonstrating and providing practical instruction in Equine Studies, including riding. You would be joining an enthusiastic and professional team dedicated to an excellent standard of teaching and equine welfare. The yard team is made up of four technical Instructors, a Yard Manager and a Commercial Manager, who together look after the practical running of the centre and care for our 64 horses. Accommodation is provided at a reduced cost of rent.
You will need a full Level 3 or above equine qualification. You will have, or be willing to work towards a teaching qualification and literacy and numeracy Level 2 qualification or equivalent. The ability to communicate effectively is an essential pre-requisite for this role along with at least three year’s relevant practical experience within the Equine industry.
As well as a contributory pension scheme, health cash plan, salary sacrifice scheme and free car parking, the post also attracts 25 days’ holiday per year, pro rata. The successful candidate will also receive regular equine training and have the opportunity to take further qualifications paid for by the College. Own horse a possibility subject to space.
Candidates will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) and to provide proof of their right to work in the UK.
