Mainstream Group are one Kent’s leading recruiters to the transport and logistics industries. We are excited to be hiring a Transport & Fleet Manager for a major local Highways Services company here in Sittingbourne.
Roles & Responsibilities
Compliance & Fleet Maintenance
• Compliance and maintenance of fleet of 50+ vehicles
• Maintaining accreditation and auditing
• Fines, drivers hours and infringements
• Dealing with breakdowns
• Fleet insurance negotiations and claims
Team
• Management of transport apprentice and logistics coordinator
• Driver recruitment
• Driving assessments
Finance & administration
• Service level agreements
• Negotiating vehicle lease deals
• Vehicle purchasing
• Negotiating diesel & AdBlue deals
• Liaising with front line departments
• Input/attendance of weekly planning meetings
• Periodical management and transport meetings
• Authorisation of transport related invoices
Skills & capabilities
• Transport Manager CPC
• Strong management
• Attention to detail
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Proven experience within a similar role
• Negotiation skills
This is a predominantly a Monday to Friday role but due to the nature of the industry a certain amount of flexibility will be required. Dependant upon experience and skill set the salary for this position is circa £40k.
