A small, friendly, independent primary school in Maidstone is looking for a head chef to work term time from 8am until 2pm, Monday to Friday. The role is to prepare, cook and serve food to meet the specifications as defined by the school. This includes meeting the meal requirements of the students and staff and any special, emergency or function catering. To assist in supervising any catering assistants ensuring the agreed standards and targets are maintained. To prepare termly 3 week lunch menu and to order the relevant food needed from suppliers, and arrange delivery of these. Supervise cleaning duties including general washing up and clearing away, as well as any clearing up of yourself. Assist and implement the departmental Food Safety Manual, giving correct checks on temperature of food to be served, safe storage of food etc. Keep abreast of new initiatives, systems and regulations through regular training.
