Do you have extensive experience of working in international student recruitment in a higher education environment? Have you had success in developing and managing effective international networks and external relationships? If so, we'd like to hear from you.
This full time, ongoing role is an exciting opportunity to develop the internationalisation objectives of the University, within the busy International Recruitment team, with a particular focus on China.
As Senior International Officer you will:
take a leading role in developing the University's international student recruitment strategy
lead on the operational management of recruitment activities for specific regions, in particular China
contribute to raising and strengthening the external and internal profile of the University's international and European identity
be willing to travel overseas for several weeks at a time
To succeed in this role you will:
be educated to degree level (or equivalent qualification)
be fluent in Mandarin, both written and oral
have supervisory management experience
have excellent interpersonal and communication skills

International Recruitment is responsible for:
the recruitment of overseas i.e. non-EU students, currently around 17% of the full-time student body;
the development and support of the University’s International Recruitment Strategy;
the support for the development of programmes for overseas students;
in collaboration with other professional services, the induction and welfare of overseas students at the University; and the promotion of the University’s image overseas and raising our international esteem profile.
