We are looking for a Junior / Graduate PHP Developer to join our growing team of developers from our main office in Maidstone town centre.

Responsibilities include:
• Designing and developing systems in PHP
• Peer reviewing code
• Managing project items to completion
• Writing testable code

Requirements include:
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience developing in Object Orientated PHP
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills
• Focused on output and quality, with a habit of documenting your work
• Good understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JS, JQuery)
• Database design

Bonus skills include:
• Experience with REST APIs
• Knowledge of PHP Frameworks, ideally Symfony; training available
• Familiar with source code revision control systems (GIT); training available
• Automated testing principles and practices; training available
• Experience in Agile software development; training available
• Experience of using JIRA to facilitate Agile development; training available
• Linux, Amazon AWS; training available where applicable

All work is managed through JIRA and code changed through version control systems. Code will be monitored over code coverage metrices and team-based sprint velocity.

We are currently migrating our apps to better-use the AWS stack so AWS knowledge would be advantageous.

Our development team is friendly and close-knit, and we welcome new members to join us. We typically prefer to develop with Windows based PHPStorm, but devs are free to choose their own environment. All developers enjoy high spec development computers, with 2 large screens as standard. We have two daily breaks in addition to a lunch hour, with XBOX One / PlayStation 4 / Pool table available.
