PLAY YOUR PART IN THE DOCKYARD STORY
The Historic Dockyard Chatham is the most complete dockyard from the Age of Sail to survive anywhere in the world, one of Britain’s leading independent museums and maritime heritage destinations.
This exciting new role is an opportunity to join a very successful Development and Communications team to support both revenue and capital fundraising projects, work with individuals to motivate donations and communicate with our key stakeholders.

Working with the Director of Communications and Development and Chief Executive, you will be a highly motivated individual capable of working alone as well as part of a small team and will be driven by the desire to further the charitable objectives of our organisation, Preservation, Education and Experience.

Previous experience in fundraising and stakeholder relationships is desirable but not essential.

Major Purpose
To support the Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust management team in developing the organisation’s ability to secure core and capital funding through the delivery of funding proposals and bids to:
• Statutory Sources (HLF, Arts Council England etc.)
• Charitable Trusts and Foundations
• Companies
• Individuals (Regular Giving, On-site Giving and Legacies).
Implement a range of stakeholder relationship management strategies and activities to increase engagement with key individuals.
Responsible to: Development and Communications Manager
Key Duties
Fundraising
Work with the Development and Communications Manager to:
• Identify potential individual and corporate donors / charitable trusts / funding bodies for both capital and revenue purposes working within relevant teams as appropriate

• Undertake necessary desk research on funders and assist in matching projects to objectives

• Administer the application process for all new capital and revenue grant funding bids and working with the Development and Communications Manager, Chief Executive and Senior Management in developing bids

• Support the production of data and financial reports for all the Trust’s externally funded projects

• Working with the Development and Communications Manager, draft funding bids to support the development of small projects.

• Administer the monitoring and evaluation of grants (both existing and new).

• Create and manage a dedicated legacy giving programme

• Further enhance opportunities for individual giving.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Enhance and implement stakeholder engagement and communications strategically designed to build longstanding relationships built on trust and excellent communications

• Provide administrative support for all Stakeholder events and activities including Dockyard Ambassador briefings, Trafalgar Night Dinner, Private View and other ad-hoc events.

• Provide programme and administrative support for the Trust’s programmes as and where required

Other Duties
To undertake other such duties as may be reasonably required from time to time, including support of the Trusts programme of events and activities.
