Are you an experienced Section Head or have held supervisory positions within a ISO 17025, MCERTS or UKAS accredited laboratory?



My client, a leading independent and commercial laboratory are experiencing some growth and looking to recruit an experienced, professional and passionate Section Head. Responsible for undertaking and supervising the analysis of soil and water samples from a wide variety of sources in accordance with standard operating procedures, to train junior members of the department to ensure their performance is satisfactory and cost effective, to assist with implementing, developing, reviewing and updating standard operating procedures for the department, To ensure that the methods used within the laboratory reflect current legislative and industrial requirements and provide expertise in method development and validation, To ensure that an audit trail is fully completed and maintained to demonstrate investigation of any non-compliance's associated with deviations from routine practices and to prepare and participate in departmental/management meetings.





Skills and Experience required

* Previous supervisory experience in an ISO 17025, MCERTS or UKAS accredited laboratory
* Qualified to min HNC standard in an appropriate discipline.
* Must have a comprehensive understanding of soil and water sample matrices, organic analytical techniques and interference's.
* Good knowledge on day to day running of GC's, including ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot
* Ability to motivate and develop staff



My client is offering a great salary for the right candidate, a 40 hours working week plus more.
