We are looking to appoint a full time (162.5 hours per month) and a part time (117.5 hours per month) SUPPORT WORKER to join our team at The New Bungalow, Aldington, Kent, TN25 7DT. Both roles are based on variable shifts which may include short days; long days; weekends; sleep-ins and occasional awake nights as allocated on a monthly rota.

As a SUPPORT WORKEr you will provide good quality care and support to the adults based on their needs through a person-centred approach. You will assist them in every aspect of their daily lives, including personal care by providing a safe and supportive environment that enables individuals to feel valued, reach their potential and nurture their aspirations.

The New Bungalow is home to six adults who have learning disability needs including physical and sensory impairments. As a SUPPORT WORKER based at the New Bungalow you will be working with adults with a variation of complex needs.

We provide long-term accommodation and care, based in unique family style homes. The ethos of all our homes is to support independence, dignity, choice and achievement by helping people to live the lives they choose.

IDEALLY YOU WILL NEED:

o An appreciation of the needs of people with learning disabilities plus physical and sensory impairments
o Experience of using specialist equipment and knowledge of autism, diabetes, epilepsy and dementia would be preferable but not essential as comprehensive training is available
o To be considerate, patient, self-motivated, enthusiastic and professional
o To be Flexible as hours include week-ends, sleep-ins and awake night duties as rostered
o Sound interpersonal skills
o Good verbal and written communication skills plus basic IT and report writing skills
o A willingness to work towards achieving a NVQ2 Diploma in Health and Social Care Qualification within 18 months of commencement
o To hold a driving licence (manual) as you may be required to drive our service users to appointments and activities using a pool car (manual)
