Kent Wildlife Trust is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) who will have day-to-day overall responsibility for operations and be responsible for developing mechanisms to better manage and monitor financial performance, ensuring the fiscal health, operational compliance, quality control, resilience and monitoring and evaluation of support services across the Trust.
Main responsibilities:
- ensuring the effectiveness and financial sustainability of the Trust and its subsidiaries
- ensuring that the Trust has the human, systems, and financial resources it needs to operate effectively and efficiently
- ensuring that the Trust fulfills its constitutional, regulatory and legal obligations
- ensuring that the organisation has the right management systems and structures to carry out its work effectively, accountably and safely, and that professional standards are maintained
- ensuring that all assets and resources of the Trust - land, buildings, equipment including vehicles, materials and cash - are properly managed and secured, and that plans are in place for their maintenance, replacement or improvements, as appropriate.
You will have significant experience in leading operational activity, majoring on finance, with demonstrably successful commercial acumen. You will be able to identify ways to position Kent Wildlife Trust as a market leader whilst upholding Trust values. You will have a proven track record in leading and managing financial, legal and regulatory compliance, quality, resilience, processes, monitoring and evaluation. Most of all you will be a dynamic, forward thinking people manager who leads a culture of trust, collaboration, and teamwork across teams, whilst driving accountability, delivery and development to ensure Kent Wildlife Trust has talented people to meet its current and future needs.
