About Our Client
My client is a leading and expanding motor insurance group who are renowned for their staff reward and recognition and are ranked highly in The Times Top 30 Big Companies to work for.
Role Purpose:
A Front-end Web Developer with awareness of good UX techniques is required for a vibrant development team in Tunbridge Wells to work with existing designers, web developers and application developers to allow an increase in capacity working on a range of static, CMS-based sites and transactional web applications.
The role would be highly individualised and allow growth and exposure in multiple disciplines and the successful candidate would be tasked with work on a range of websites for a diverse group of companies.
Skills and Knowledge
* Experience of Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Fireworks, and Illustrator or similar is essential and any knowledge of CMS including Umbraco, Kentico or WordPress would be of value.
* Ability to create cross device and cross browser compatible web page templates using W3C standards with some front end development experience including HTML5, CSS3 and possibly JQuery/JavaScript.
* Practical understanding of UX best practices and user behaviour would be highly advantageous.
* Awareness of design considerations with digital media and ability to produce web page, email and mobile designs would be essential.
* Effective knowledge and experience with SEO optimisation would be beneficial.
* Knowledge of responsive frameworks such as Bootstrap and experience with CSS pre-processors such as LESS or SASS would be advantageous.
* Any exposure to server-side development including PHP, C#, Asp.Net MVC and SQL Server or MySQL would be highly advantageous but not essential.
Personal Qualities
A successful candidate would be dynamic, reliable and willing with an opportunity to become involved in a variety of tasks ranging from design, front-end and server-side development.
The applicant should have good time management and be able to manage workloads appropriately.
Work Opportunities
Design and contribute to web sites ranging from simple brochure sites to highly transactional web applications including mobile and tablet capable site design and application development.
Successful candidates would also obtain exposure to website development and hosting and management and SEO practices.
