The Administrative Services Department are currently looking for a part time Catering Assistant to assist the Caterer in the provision of freshly prepared meals whilst maintaining a safe, clean and hygienic food area for employees and visitors until December 2018 with the potential to be extended.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• To assist the Caterer in the preparation and serving of freshly cooked lunches and tea time treats employees, contractors and visitors.

• Assist the Caterer in the preparation and serving of buffet lunches for meetings and visitors, as requested. Deliver buffets lunches when required.

• Assist the caterer in the maintenance of canteen supplies, including stock takes to minimise wastage and ensuring the freezers are stocked as directed by the Caterer

• To operate the canteen till when required.

• To adhere strictly to the Food Hygiene Regulations and to operate safely at all times in line with Company health and safety requirements.

• To assist in ensuring the kitchen is kept spotlessly clean at all times, including cleaning shelves, cupboards and floors, and bagging rubbish ready for collection, ensure it is left clean at the end of each day.

• In the absence of the Caterer to assume all responsibility for the canteen and provision of meals, this will require increasing hours for the period of cover; stock checks, ordering of supply’s, tea time treats and buffets.

• To report any equipment or maintenance problems to the Facilities Team.


About You:

• Previous experience of working in a catering environment

• Working knowledge of safe working practices required in a catering environment

• Good organisational skills

• Good interpersonal and customer facing skills with the ability to be professional, display patience and politeness within a sometimes pressured environment

• Ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team

• A conscientious, flexible and ‘can do’ working style


Qualifications:

• Food Hygiene Certificate
