GREAT COMPANY. VARIED AND INTERESTING ROLE.
This is a great role for someone with experience in purchasing and procurement to manage a portfolio of suppliers and assist in sourcing new suppliers. You will ideally be educated to A level and have a thorough understanding of computerised manufacturing systems (ERP, MPS). You will be a good negotiator, used to working under pressure and to tight deadlines, and have a proven track record of improving component availability.
You will ideally have at least 12 months' experience in purchasing with knowledge of manufacturing and distribution. Developing relationships with key vendors, you will employ Supply Chain Management techniques to ensure timely and cost effective supply of all materials.
Other responsibilities include:
Ensuring deliveries are consolidated to maximise use of delivery vehicles
Negotiating cost and lead time reductions on components
Ensuring that vendors comply with performance expectations (time, quality, quantity)
Regular analysis of component availability and future raw material requirements
