Help our residents maintain active and independent lives through the creation and delivery of individualised activity plans based on their interests, abilities and life experience.
Care UK run over 120 homes and day clubs across the UK and provide residential, nursing, dementia and end-of-life care for older people. As one of the UK’s leading care home providers, our goal is to help every employee fulfil his or her potential – with first-class training and support.
Our ambitious growth plans see us opening another brand-new care home in Sidcup in early 2019. Smyth Lodge provides you with a great opportunity to join a company who genuinely care about your development, providing the opportunities for you to progress. Set out across three floors our home will provide a fantastic environment for you to be able to deliver engaging and person-centred care. We truly believe in encouraging our residents to be as independent as possible, whether they’re going to our cinema room to see the latest film, participating in our daily activity programme or having a catch up in our coffee shop with their friends and loved ones there is always plenty going on.
Delivering a stimulating programme of leisure pursuits, you will enrich the lives of our residents in countless ways. To make sure that nobody is left out, you will quickly develop an individual plan for each new resident, reflecting their tastes and interests, and will promote your activities throughout the home. We’ll give you a generous budget to buy resources such as craft materials, board games, jigsaws, cards and needlework supplies and we’ll encourage you to come up with fresh ideas to add colour to residents’ lives. Quite simply, you’ll make sure that everyone has fun – and we can guarantee you’ll get plenty of enjoyment along the way.
Caring for elderly people isn’t just a job to you – it’s a vocation. You love going the extra mile to make their lives better and you bring a real sense of fun and flexibility to everything you do. Chances are you have an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, but more importantly you possess plenty of common sense, bags of initiative and real drive and determination to make a difference.
As an Activities Co-ordinator at Care UK, you can look forward to:
• Competitive pay – we pay more than the average
• Flexible hours, including a choice of day, night or weekend shifts
• 25 days’ annual leave
• Bank holiday enhancements
• Fast-track career options
• Quality training to develop your skills
• Stakeholder pension
• Childcare vouchers
• Free uniform
• Thousands of online and in-store discounts
As an award-winning company, we are looking for like-minded, passionate colleagues to join us in making our multi-million-pound home a success.
