Due to an increase in business within our restaurant and Bed and Breakfast, we are looking to recruit a Commis Chef.

We offer a fantastic hourly rate DOE and also good scope for career progression and further training. Being able to cook quality local ingredients to the highest standard in a busy kitchen is essential and applicants will need to show their skills to our head and sous chefs in a trial service. We welcome chefs to also bring their ideas to the menus and weekly changing specials boards.


We have a team of 8 very talented and passionate chefs here at The Black Horse Inn and we are looking for another equally 'foodie' chef to join the team. This position would be perfect for those coming out of or in their last year of college training and a great kitchen to start learning the trade, or, alternatively someone who is passionate about food and has their NVQ training in place.

This position is up to 30 hours per week with more hours if required.

We offer 5.5 weeks paid holiday per year, enrolment on workplace pensions, a generous hourly rate plus great tips.

As a family run business we also close on Christmas Day and only open for lunch Boxing Day so we are very family orientated with our staff. We also have a very successful wedding venue and training in Rational cooking will be given. We are rural so own transport is essential as we are not on any public transport routes, sorry we do not offer live in.
