An exciting opportunity has arisen within our busy Contracts department in the East for a Regional Works Delivery Manager, reporting to the Senior Regional Works Delivery Manager. We are looking for an individual with extensive experience in the water industry managing repair and maintenance contractors with demonstrable experience in delivery of performance metrics.
Overview
The purpose of the role is to manage and coordinate the repair and maintenance contractor activities to ensure works are delivered safely, effectively, compliant, achieving all contract and highway performance metrics whilst certifying the associated cost of works are accurately and promptly processed.
Main responsibilities
* Manage the Repair and Maintenance Contractor to provide an effective service compliant with the contract
* Manage the contractors to ensure all contract metrics and targets are delivered
* Ensure street works are delivered safely and in compliance with Health and Safety and Highway legislation
* Ensure the contractor repairs leaks and bursts within agreed timescales to achieve the regulatory leakage target
* Manage the Technician Schedulers to ensure the field teams deliver excellent customer service and support and supervise the contractor gangs. Develop associated measures and targets
* Work with Strategic Contract manager to ensure contract financial accuracy and security whilst embedding common processes across both regions
* Work with the Strategic Contract Manager to develop, implement and oversee a robust and consistent approach to works and financial auditing
* Deputise for Head of Operations when required
* Provide management support and expertise during incident
* Liaise with Regional Network and Production Managers' to ensure the effective delivery of works
* Provide effective reports and presentations as required
Expected Requirements
* Extensive experience in the water industry within the discipline of water distribution and network systems
* Minimum of 3 years' experience managing and supervising teams with a recognised qualification in management and supervision
* Management and supervisory certificate in highway management.
* Qualifications and experience in managing health and safety for teams and contractors.
* Ability to motivate staff, solve problems, plan activity and strategies.
* Good communication and customer service skills.
* Experience in working within and managing budgets and programmes.
* Extensive experience in managing water repair and maintenance contracts and contractors.
* Experience in the preparation, procurement and selection of a contracted supplier.
* Practical experience and knowledge within the last 5 years of main laying practices and techniques.
* There is a requirement to partake in an operational standby roster
