Situated in a lovely part of Northfleet, Watling Court is a purpose built, 3 storey, Extra Care scheme featuring 56 apartments that were carefully designed for over 55\'s, enabling them to remain living enjoyable, independent lives within the community, with peace of mind that they are in a safe and secure environment with staff on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, should an emergency arise.

Extra care housing schemes attempt to eliminate loneliness amongst older people through the creation of a community, tenants are encouraged to be independent in their own homes but have use of the communal areas for social activities.

The scheme has a staffing presence 24 hours a day, seven days a week and applications from people who would like to join the dedicated teams of staff at Watling Court are always welcome.

The Scheme has a vacancy for a location specific Domiciliary Care Worker, who\'s principal responsibilities include providing care and support to individuals in their own homes in keeping with their individually tailored care plans.

Pay: £8.25 - £8.33 per hour

Being location specific, all our Domiciliary Care Worker\'s fulfil their client\'s care needs within the scheme, negating travel costs and alleviating the pressures of time felt within the wider community as staff rush from one post code to another.

The ideal Domiciliary Care Worker will demonstrate

o A caring and compassionate approach
o Patience and understanding of older people
o Evidence of competence to undertake the post
o Basic care competencies in the voluntary, public or private sectors
o Strong commitment to the provision of non-discriminatory care and to providing excellence
o Willingness to undertake training
o Efficient and effective administrative skills
o Strong customer focus
o Honesty, trustworthiness, reliability and respectfulness.
o An understanding of Health and Safety
o Good communication and negotiation skills with different groups, e.g. staff, residents, local community
o Understanding of different values / cultures of residents and staff
o Team working skills
o Good timekeeping skills
o Professionalism


The ideal Domiciliary Care Worker will have the ability to:

o Play an active role in creating a good environment
o Prioritise their work
o Be aware of the support needed by others, consider how they can support them and encourage and support them
o Recognise and work to meet where possible the diverse and unique needs of each tenant
o Manage conflict
o Train for and take on additional responsibilities
o Listen carefully and attentively
o Respect the dignity and privacy of all those they come into contact with
o Apply their knowledge and training in the workplace
o Uphold the policies and procedures of The Organisation
