About the Department
This division provides market leading coverage for international professional indemnity, cyber and management liability risks; and for international bloodstock and livestock coverage; accident and health risks, and contingency risks; and trade credit, surety and political risks.

Key Duties and accountabilities
Planning and Management Information (25%)
·Coordinate financial and written plans for the division alongside management and the Planning and Strategy Group.
·Ensure that underwriters receive regular reports on divisional performance, including but not limited to GWP vs Plan, Rate vs plan, new business, renewal retention, major trading partners new and renewal figures.
·Review claims, pricing, rating and performance packs alongside the actuaries and debate salient points with management. Work with the teams to implement any performance improvement plans and track the actions.
Technical and oversight (20%)
·Develop and maintain Technical Underwriting Guides for each distinct product.
·React to underwriting breaches and internal independent underwriting review findings.
·Monitor and where necessary supervise peer reviews.
·Coordinate and maintain underwriting authorities
·Liaise with internal departments on general legislative and regulatory changes. (Recent examples include ICA, GDPR and Brexit)
·Monitor and track delegated business and EPIs alongside MDs and DUA team.
·Represent the division the communicating needs/demands/issues and reporting back to management
·Ensure timely and accurate delivery of Aggregation data to the Aggs team. Ensure teams are operating within limits.
Strategy and development/delivery (25%)
·Coordinate the research, development and delivery of new initiatives alongside the Strategy & Development team including new products, territories, distribution, and resource.
·Help coordinate internal and external communications e.g. marketing communications, events and presentations.
Technology, systems and data (25%)
·Work with management to review technology, systems and processes in order to identify improvements. Raise new requests and help coordinate implementation.
·Liaise and coordinate between ITS and the division for general technology, system or processes implementation
Operations (5%)
·Liaise and coordinate between service units and the division for general operational changes and demands (i.e. HR, Finance, L&C updates).

Key Skills, knowledge and experience
·An appreciation of the technical underwriting (including claims) process.
·An understanding of London/Lloyd's market (including processes and systems) and major insurance and reinsurance products/classes.
·Good communication and presentation skills including via MS PowerPoint.
·Project management capabilities.
·Self-starter who will use their own initiative to solve problems and complete tasks.
·A curious and progressive mind - willing and able to challenge the status-quo.
·A knowledge and interest in emerging risks and markets to assist in innovation and underwriting appetite and discipline.
