Do you like working with young people?
Are you a problem-solver?
Do you want to make a difference?

Come and work at The Math.

The school is seeking to appoint a full-time Pastoral Support Assistant with effect from 29th October 2018. The post will be term time only, 7 hours per day, 5 days per week for 38 weeks per year. The position is paid on the NJC pay scale Band D2 between point 12 (£17,173pa pro rata) to point 14 (£17,681pa pro rata) depending on experience, with annual progression up to point 21 (£20, 541pa pro rata) thereafter.

We are targeting this post at those who have experience of working with young people, ideally in a school setting but this is not essential. You will work closely with our Heads of Year 10 & 11 to help manage the behaviour, welfare and academic progress of our Key Stage 4 pupils.

Do you currently work in pastoral support in a secondary school? Are you an LSA, TA, HSSW or FLO seeking a new challenge?

The role will suit a dynamic and perceptive individual who is organised, has a flexible approach to changes during the working day, is a team player, and is keen to support our students and help them achieve their full potential. Daily tasks will include mentoring students, investigating incidents, making and receiving telephone calls, updating pupil records, typing letters, assisting with the organisation of school events and responding to requests for information. As the role is partly administrative, a certain degree of organisation and competence with IT is desirable.

OFSTED awarded the school an outstanding grade in every category in our most recent inspection, commenting that “students thrive within its distinctive ethos, enabling them to succeed academically and to develop into confident, well-rounded individuals who are prepared extremely well for their future lives.”

If you are interested in working in support of bright, talented pupils, and alongside an exceptional group of teachers and support staff then please contact the PA to the Headteacher Mrs Jacqueline Harrison, (harrisonj@sjwms.co.uk) 01634 844008 or visit our website
www.sirjosephwilliamson.medway.sch.uk where further details and an application form can be downloaded.

The Williamson Trust currently consists of Sir Joseph Williamson’s Mathematical School, The Hundred of Hoo Academy, High Halstow Primary School, Allhallows Primary Academy, Stoke Community School.

We are committed to the safeguarding and wellbeing of children and any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Closing date for applications – Friday 12th October 2018
