Construction Programmer / Planner

2 Year Fixed Term Contract

My client is working in conjunction with Southern Water on a multi-million-pound water management/shore regeneration project. They are now looking for a Construction Programmer / Planner to join this joint venture project.

The successful Construction Programmer / Planner will be required to develop Tender programmes, conduct site visits and look through works and drawings when required. You will also be involved with master programming which will include design, procurement, pre-commencement, construction and commissioning.

You will report in conjunction with Project managers and will have operational experience with previous experience of planning within the utilities/construction industries.

It is highly advantageous for this role if all applicants have appropriate experience in project planning processes and the project life cycle and also knowledge of the procurement processes necessary for designing and building commercial projects.

Construction Programmer / Planner Position Overview

* Developing construction and tender programmes
* Conduct site visits and look through the works and drawings when required
* Review contractor schedules and schedule risk analysis
* Produce progress/program reports in conjunction with project and construction manager
* Produce weekly look-ahead programs and manage critical paths.

Construction Programmer / Planner Position Requirements

* Experience of project planning processes
* Understanding of the project life-cycle
* Knowledge of the procurement processes necessary for designing and building commercial projects.
* Good IT skills with all Microsoft packages including Microsoft Project and Primavera v6
* Ability to pick up new software quickly.
