Kent and Medway Medical School will offer first-class medical education and research, combining the strengths and expertise of two universities: Canterbury Christ Church University and University of Kent.

Based at the universities’ Canterbury campuses, it is Kent and Medway‘s first medical school and aims to be first choice for all those aspiring to achieve excellence in person-centred medical care in the UK.

We are now seeking to recruit a Stakeholder Communications and Engagement Manager who can develop and manage a challenging and varied portfolio of work to deliver a compelling and connected communications & engagement strategy targeting a wide range of key stakeholder groups, mainly in the health and care sectors.

You will help explain the strategic direction of the new Kent and Medway Medical School (KMMS), building its reputation as a beacon for first-class medical education and research, which will attract the most talented aspiring doctors from within the local community and beyond.

To be successful in this role you will have:

•Educated to A level standard or equivalent plus GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent
•IT qualification such as ECDL or equivalent
•Recognised secretarial/administrative qualifications or relevant higher level PA experience
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Email, an electronic diary (Microsoft Outlook) and Internet
•As a Stakeholder Communications and Engagement Manager you will:
• Advise and support the Founding Dean and other key members of staff to ensure the effectiveness of their communications and engagement activities.
• Develop and manage a suite of innovative, high quality and measurable digital and print campaigns aimed an internal and external stakeholders in support of profile building and student recruitment activities
• Support KMMS reputation management and crisis communications to support a return to business as usual status


To succeed in this role you will:

• Be educated to degree level or equivalent with a professional qualification in PR or willingness to study for this qualification
• Demonstrable experience of handling multiple projects, multi-channel promotional campaigns, reporting on statistical data, prioritising workloads and successfully achieving outcomes within specified deadlines and budgets.
• Relevant stakeholder communications engagement experience including development of a wide range of communications for diverse audiences.

The Kent and Medway Medical School (KMMS) is a joint initiative between Canterbury Christ Church University and the University of Kent. Opening in September 2020 with 100 students, it will offer five-year undergraduate programmes resulting in joint degrees from both institutions in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.
