IT Systems Analyst
Maidstone and regular travel to London

The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of office-based IT infrastructure including the setup, configuration and on-going management of server, desktop and network environments covering two offices in the South East with remote support of a third in Scotland. Primarily based in Maidstone, Kent, you will be required to travel regularly to the London office to support the infrastructure and users there. The candidate will work closely with the Network Operations teams, support all areas of the business from a ticketing system and be required to adhere to a strict change management process. The role will vary from the initial setting up of new solutions, to daily ongoing management tasks and desktop/user support.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Setup, configure and manage Microsoft Windows-based office IT Infrastructure including Hyper-V Virtualisation, Domain Controllers, Active Directory, File Servers, Routers/Switches, Phone Systems, etc.
· Setup, configure and support user desktop computing environments including laptops incorporating the management of Office365 systems and software
· Supporting users with a variety of different IT skill levels from basic call-centre users to experienced software developers and technical experts
· Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases and frequently asked questions resources on the Internet to aid in problem resolution
· Test fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved
· Manage and prioritise workload effectively according to the priorities defined by the Network Operations Manager
· Manage network access credentials and other similar security credentials conforming to group policies
· Perform preventative maintenance including the installation of service packs, patches and hot fixes
· Produce regular MI and reports on the health and state of the network, servers, user machines and accounts
ROLE:
· Ensuring that redundancy is achieved at all levels of hardware and software
· Proactively monitor logs and metrics to ensure uptime, highlight performance improvements and future capacity planning
· Maintaining servers and services through software updates, security patching and service pack installation
· Managing backups and regularly test restoration
· Assisting with technology planning
· Fielding incoming help requests from users via phone, email, Teams and Skype in a polite, helpful and courteous manner
· Evaluating documented resolutions and analyse trends for ways to prevent future problems
· Creating procedures and processes for all touch points
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE
Required:
· Networking and network security
· Strong working knowledge of Active Directory
· In-depth knowledge of Firewalls and UTM
· Excellent working knowledge of Hyper-V Virtualisation, Windows Server 2012, Active Directory and Domain Controllers, Windows 8, 8.1 and 10, Microsoft Office & Office 365
· Good knowledge of general PC and Server Hardware
· Good practical knowledge of LAN/TCP Networking in a Microsoft Environment
· Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport building & listening.
Desirable:
· High level of experience in managing Windows server environments
· Expert level knowledge of Windows server 2012R2 and above
· Microsoft Exchange
· In-depth knowledge of LAN, WAN and VPN support and design
· Production experience of Hyper-V Production experience of System Centre VMM
· Scripting experience - PowerShell, JavaScript or Python
· Microsoft certification, MCP, MCSE, MCSA, MCSD

· Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills covering network administration and security, server management, software and issue resolution
· Good communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical employees Remain calm in stressful situations
