Red Eagle are working with a leading food manufacturing client to appoint a number of Food Production Assistants. These positions are available for days and nights - 4 on 4 off 6am - 6pm and 6pm - 6am.

Job Purpose

To work as part of a team to ensure the smooth and safe running of food production lines achieving previously established targets.

Accountabilities

* Assist with food preparation and meeting all specifications.
* Checking and safely storing ingredients supplied to carry out work orders.
* Understand the principles of safe food handling and to ensure all food preparation undertaken in the kitchen is to the highest standards of
hygiene.
* Along with food preparation you will be expected to carry out general duties such as cleaning and washing up and general maintenance of
equipment and working areas.
* To understand the cleaning requirements of different surfaces and equipment, and to ensure the areas are well presented and maintained to
a high standard.
* Keeping on top of hazard control, health and safety and production hygiene.
* Maintaining the Food Safety Policy and HACCP systems to ensure highest quality standards in the products.
* Meeting production targets.
* Ensuring food safety standards are maintained.
* Assist in the completion of records of food production.
* Report on the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring the timely and appropriate ordering of replacement goods.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

* Food Hygiene Certificate at National Level 1.
* Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
* Safe manual handling practices.
* Computer literate.
* Kitchen skills - mostly dealing with ingredient preparation and blending.
* Ability to work under pressure and work to tight deadlines
* Excellent communication and team working skills.
* Ability to follow instructions and also work on own initiative

Ideally the incoming candidates will have a background of working in a commercial kitchen environment, with experience of using industrial blending machines.
