We are looking for an HR Manager to join our growing family business on a 6 month fixed term contract. Based at our Head Office in Dartford, you will be responsible for all aspects of HR for our 350 staff with the support of an HR Assistant and Payroll Administrator.

Watts Farms is a third-generation family run business which covers 9 sites in Kent, Essex and Bedfordshire spanning 750 hectares. We grow, harvest and pack fresh produce on our farms, and supply retailers and non-retail outlets. We also supply over 700 restaurants, hotels and contract caterers in London and Home Counties on a daily basis, selling around 1,000 product lines.

The successful candidate must have strong HR experience as well as a commercial mindset. You must be open to working in a changing and fast paced environment and be able to advise the business on all aspects of employment law whilst ensuring our HR policies and procedures are followed.

Whilst you will be based at our Head Office in Dartford, you will be required to spend 1 day per week at our Farningham office.

The key responsibilities of the HR Manager will include but not be limited to the following: -

• Provide a comprehensive advice service to line managers in relations to all employee issues including absence and health issues, disciplinary, capability and performance, grievance mat-ters, ensuring legislation, policy and best practice are followed.
• Support Management with projects, as required, ensuring compliance with employment law, policies and procedures.
• Ensure all appropriate staff records are maintained in relation to all formal HR issues con-forming with legislation.
• Ensure the delivery of the annual performance review process. Collate performance ratings and ensure all performance review forms are completed and objectives signed for all staff.
• Be an active member of the Senior Management Team producing monthly HR KPIs/MI data to include turnover, recruitment, ER issues, and advising SMT of upcoming employment law changes/issues which may impact the business.
• Oversee the recruitment process to include monitor the effectiveness of job boards, prepare engaging and targeted job adverts, support the HR Assistant with screening CVs and ensure CVs are short-listed within timescales agreed with hiring managers.
• Coach and guide line management to improve their HR knowledge, skills and engagement within their teams.
• Supervise the work, training, coaching and performance and contribution of the HR Assistant and Payroll Administrator, including carrying out monthly 1-2-1s, performance reviews, objec-tive setting, etc.
• Any such other task as may be required by the business.

What are we looking for?

• You must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience at HR Management level.
• CIPD qualified - Level 5 or above is essential.
• Excellent IT skills including MS Office (intermediate level Excel is essential and will be tested at interview stage).
• High level of written and verbal communication.
• Ability to determine priorities and be highly organised with meticulous attention to detail.
• Good problem-solving skills and process driven with a commercial mindset.
• Flexible and adaptable in approach to work with the ability to multi task.

Hours:

Monday - Friday, 8am – 5pm.

You may be required to be flexible in order to meet the requirements of the role, i.e. adjusting hours to assist with a meeting outside of your normal working hours.
