Data Analyst -1 year Contract
Salary – Competitive
Location – Maidstone + UK Travel

THE ROLE
This new addition to our client represents an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong grounding in data analysis, business information systems or computer science to join our Forecasting team for a one year fixed term contract.
As our Data Analyst, you will be responsible for collecting and processing data sets and connecting that with actions that can drive business impact. The ability to pay attention to detail, communicate effectively and be highly organised are essential skills. Our ideal candidate is proactive and thrives in a fast-paced environment, being able to process data in Excel or other statistics/machine learning packages.
As such, you will be split between an office role, helping analyse data gathered in the field, but also spending a fair amount of time at our different branches across the UK, assisting data gathering for key forecasting projects. After exploring and processing the data, you will be required to communicate your findings to key stakeholders through presentations and workshops.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Utilising data analytics skills to improve forecasting abilities
• Maintaining, building relationships with growers and stakeholders
• Data gathering and validation
• Data maintenance and update
• Working with end users to improve model interfaces
• Grower adoption of models
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Uses common software packages to write/run scripts
• Grower data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, visualisation and documentation
• Design and carry out A/B testing
• Grower interface
• Extract, transform and maintain grower data
• Find ways to automate processes and data
• Delivery of grower training
• Gather, understand and document grower requirements
• Draw valid inferences and present them successfully to stakeholders
• Conduct research

3. Excellent communicator – verbal and written with particular skill in interpreting to non-technical audiences
4. Autodidactic
5. Good track record in overcoming challenges

8. Able to present data in a way that is simple to interpret for a non-technical audience
9. Creative thinker with strong problem solving skills
10. Logical, numerical & systematic
11. Ability to interact with any level of staff with confidence & clarity
12. Able to build relationships with stakeholders
13. Ability to work alone, on own initiative or as part of a team as required
14. Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines, planning time & priorities
15. Full, clean driving licence
TECHNICAL SKILLS
• Strong mathematics background/ computer science (statistics related)
• Familiar with databases and data manipulation (SQL Server ideally)
• Advanced Excel
• Advance PowerPoint
• Knowledge of statistical packages (SPSS, Minitab, SAS)
• Python/Jupyter Notebook/R Desirable
