Our client has an exciting opportunity for an IT professional with Microsoft Server, Active Directory and Networking skills to join a small, but focused, team based at their Isle of Sheppey site. As an Infrastructure Engineer you will work predominately at 2nd and 3rd line levels providing support and expertise to maintain their UK IT infrastructure. As well as providing support you would also have the opportunity to get involved in IT Infrastructure projects delivering solutions within the UK IT space.

Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Leader, you will work closely with other infrastructure engineers to ensure a first class service is provided to internal customers.

You must be able to demonstrate proven abilities in the installation and support of a variety of IT systems. It is also essential to have working knowledge and practical experience in most of the following:

· Microsoft Server Technologies, incl. Server 2012, Exchange and SQL
· Microsoft Active Directory - Security and administration inc GPO management
· VMware Virtualisation Technologies
· Veeam Backup and Replication Technologies
· Email message hygiene technologies, incl. AntiSpam and Antivirus
· Storage Area Networks and NAS Technologies
· Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
· Support of server and networking hardware
· Backup and restore software and processes
· Security patching methods and tooling
· Networking knowledge LAN, VLAN, WLAN and VPN
· Switches, firewalls, routers

To be considered for this opportunity you must possess:

· Excellent technical and communication skills
· A can-do attitude with strong attention to detail
· Ability to work with minimum supervision and manage own time effectively
· Previous experience working in an IT infrastructure/systems engineer role
· Experience in problem solving
· Awareness of ITIL working practices
· A Microsoft Server MCP Exam would be preferred

The working hours are 37.5 hrs per week.
